Hard Call lands emotional Yarra Valley Cup win

This year the Jack Hirsch Memorial Yarra Valley Cup (1950m) went to the Eddie Hirsch-owned, John Salanitri-trained Hard Call in a photo finish. It was an emotional win for trainer John Salanitri, Hard Call bred by the late Jack Hirsch was involved with the Yarra Valley race club for decades. “It was Jack who lifted him over the line I think. It’s great to win this race on this day with his horse”.
