First memory at Hirsch Hill?
Hard to distinguish time but definitely a blend of feeding the horses, riding quad bikes and kicking the footy.
Favourite Hirsch Hill Wine?
Grew up around a heavy red wine environment.
We produce some cracking Cabernet’s and our 2015 vintage was unbelievable. Hard to beat that. The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon has a lot of great characteristics that will mature very nicely too. Keep an eye out for that.

Shannon, what is your role at Hirsch Hill?
Horse Manager
What was your first job in the horse industry?
First job was actually working for my Dad, but my first job outside was an apprenticeship in Horse Industry Operations and for a farm called Turranga Farm.
What is your favourite thing about Horses?
I love horses, their dusty salty smell, intelligence, intuitive nature and just their general appearance. One of my favourite quotes is from Winston Churchill who said “There is something about the outside of a horse that is good for the inside of a man “. I relate to this wholeheartedly.
Favourite Hirsch Hill Wine?
Definitely the Hirsch Hill Pinot Noir
